22VAC40-191 Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the provider beginning at 7:00 AM and ending at 8:10 AM. There were three children in the care of the provider during the inspection. The children were ages 2, 4, and 4 years old for a total of 6 points. The children were observed arriving to the day care. The children were also observed playing with toys. Bathroom and hand washing procedure. Five children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Two household members' were reviewed. There were no children's medication on site to be reviewed. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather band radio were observed and in compliance. The emergency evacuation drill log was observed and in compliance. Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-C-1-c Description: Based on a review of two household records, it was determined that the provider did complete search of central registry for all household members. Evidence: Household member A's record did not have documentation of a search of central registry. Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she received information that the fingerprint background check replaced all the other background checks required for licensure. The provider stated that she would complete the search of central registry for household member immediately.
