54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.

Technical Assistance:
**Discussed ensuring parents sign all forms and that the Medication Administration forms in children's files have only one box checked to eliminate confusion.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-11:15am. There were 4 children including the provider's child (8 points) directly supervised by the provider. The home, staff records, 3 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications for children on site today. Children were observed playing freely and waking from nap. There was a variety of age appropriate toys, books and materials for the children in care. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Description: Based on observation, medications were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: The unlocked medicine cabinet was observed to contain 4 bottles of cough syrup and 3 bottles of pills.

Plan of Correction: I will find a way to lock the medication.
