Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was offered regarding increasing capacity, water activities for children.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 10:45am to 12:40pm. There were 6 children (18 points) in care of 3 caregivers. The children were observed playing in wading pools and enjoying other age appropriate water activities. The children were also observed eating lunch. The lunch menu included hummus, green beans, kiwi, fettucine and milk. 3 caregiver records, 6 children's records, emergency drill records and attendance were reviewed. The outdoor space of the family day home was inspected. Areas of non compliance are listed in the violation notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not maintain complete records for children enrolled. Evidence: Child # 2's record was missing the medical insurance policy number.

Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents for the missing information.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-C
Description: Based on record review, the family day home did not obtain additional immunizations every six months for children under the age of two. Evidence: Child # 1's most recent immunization records were dated October 2018. Additional immunization records were not obtained in six months.

Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents to provide me with updated records.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-A
Description: Based on observation, small electrical appliances were not unplugged when not in use. Evidence: A coffee machine and a toaster oven were not unplugged in the kitchen. The appliances were not in use.

Plan of Correction: The appliances were unplugged during the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-660-B
Description: Based on records review, the family day home did not obtain written permission from the parent of each child who participates in swimming or wading activities. Evidence: 6 children were observed using wading pools at the family day home. Written permission for wading activities were not obtained for any of the 6 children.

Plan of Correction: I will get the forms completed for their records.
