Technical Assistance:
Please make sure to vary the times of day you do monthly escape drills. Any caregiver ( assistant, substitute provider etc) must first have satisfactory fingerprint background check and a completed sworn disclosure statement on file prior to employment. Tuberculosis tests/screenings are good for two years.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today with the provider, who was present with an assistant and 9 napping children ( 14 months through 4 years of age) for a total of 21 points. For lunch, the provider reported that she fed them scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, green beans, wheat bread banana and milk. The were no medications on site. The provider reported that there have been no injuries/accidents. Please send me a copy of the completed fingerprint background check upon completion. Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-B
Description: Based on observation and an interview, it was determined that a caregiver was allowed to work in the day care prior to obtaining a sworn disclosure background check. Evidence: Assistant B was hired and started working in the day care today, 7/29/19 and does not have a fingerprint background check on file.

Plan of Correction: will not allow anyone to work in my day care who has not completed a sworn disclosure statement first.

Standard #: 63.2-1720.1-B-2
Description: Based on observation and an interview, it was determined that two caregivers were allowed to work in the daycare prior to obtaining a fingerprint background check. Evidence: Assistant's A and B both were hired and started working in the day care today, 7/29/19 and neither had a fingerprint background check on file.

Plan of Correction: I will not allow anyone to work in my day care who has not first had a fingerprint background check stating that they are eligible to work in the day care.
