Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding the Central Registry Search that is required for all household members once they turn 14 years old, and to send me the paper within 10 days, by 10/14/19. We also spoke about the renewal application, to send it in as soon as the CPS results come back.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-11:00am. There were 2 children (7 points) supervised by 1 direct caregiver. The home, 2 children?s records, 2 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children and provider were engaged in playing together. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A
Description: Based on review of emergency procedures, an emergency evacuation drill is not being practiced every month.
Evidence:
There is no documentation of an emergency drill being practiced in September.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure to document every time we do a drill.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-A
Description: Based on observation, the provider does not have written record of children in attendance each day.
Evidence:
The were no written records of attendance to review.

Plan of Correction: I will keep a written record.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-C
Description: Based on review of 2 children's records, 1 does not have an updated immunization record every 6 months for children under the age of 2.
Evidence:
Child #1, under the age of 2, does not have an updated immunization record, last update was 12/11/18

Plan of Correction: I will contact the parent and get the updated record.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280
Description: Based on observation, there are potentially poisonous substances and supplies, such as cleaning agents, disinfectants and pesticides accessible to children.

Evidence:
The provider brought the children upstairs in the kitchen area, where potentially poisonous substances were accessible to children in a cabinet under the kitchen sink.

Plan of Correction: I will put the child proof locks on the kitchen cabinets.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-290
Description: Based on observation, sharp kitchen utensils and other sharp objects are accessible to children.
Evidence:
The children were upstairs in the kitchen area where sharp kitchen utensils and scissors were accessible to children in a kitchen drawer.

Plan of Correction: I will put child proof locks on the kitchen drawers.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-A
Description: Based on observation, small electrical appliances were plugged in when not in use.
Evidence:
In the kitchen ares small electrical appliances were plugged in.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure to unplug everything when not in use.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-560-A
Description: Based on observation a sleeping baby was not monitored using a baby monitor or physical check every 15 minutes.
Evidence:
An infant was laid down at 10:07am, as of 10:38am, the child has not been physically checked every 15 minutes. There is no baby monitor system in place.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure to check the sleeping infants, every 15 minutes.

Standard #: 63.2-1721.1-B-3
Description: Based on review of 2 household member records, 1 does not have documentation of a Virginia Central Registry search.
Evidence:
Household member #1 turned 14 in August 2019, and has not completed a Virginia Central Registry search.

Plan of Correction: I will complete and submit the paperwork and send the inspector a copy of it within 10 days.
