*Discussed with the provider that it is always beneficial to document when parents are given a copy of the handbook and any addendum or addition to the policies, and discussed that even if parents state that they do not want/need a copy of the policies or provider handbook, that the provider should give them a copy either way to ensure that they are meeting the standards, and so they can refer parents to the provided handbook/policies if anything comes up.

An unannounced Complaint Inspection was conducted on October 8, 2019 in response to a complaint that was received by the Virginia Department of Social Services, Licensing Division. Interviews were conducted with the provider relating to allegations concerning Policies and Procedures and Substitute Care. Based upon a preponderance of evidence, the information gathered during the investigation does not support the allegations, and the complaint is determined to be not valid. Please complete the columns for 'description of action to be taken' and 'date to be corrected' for each violation cited on the violation notice, and then return a signed and dated copy to the licensing office within 10 business days.
