Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-730-D
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure medication, except for those prescriptions designated otherwise by a written physician's order, including refrigerated medication and medications for caregivers and household members, were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:

1. Prescription medications were observed unlocked in a bowl on top of the microwave located on the kitchen counter.
2. The provider identified the medication as belonging to a household member and acknowledged the medication was unlocked but out of reach of children in care.

Plan of Correction: Per the provider: We will move the medication and store it in a place that is locked.
