Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 9:30am through 10:45am with the provider on site. The providers 2 children were present (5 points). A sample of 1 children's files and 2 staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: napping and preparing for school. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-A-1
Description: Based on observation, the first aid kit did not contain the minimum requirements.
Evidence:
1. The provider had a first aid kit, but it was missing the first aid instruction manual.

Plan of Correction: I will try and locate the manual or will purchase a new kit.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-G
Description: Based on interview and record review, the provider failed to have the wood burning fireplace inspected annually.
Evidence:
1. The provider stated she did not have the fireplace inspected this year.
2. The record documented the last inspection was completed on 8/15/2018.

Plan of Correction: I will call today and schedule the appointment.
