54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 8:45am to 10:15am with the provider. There were five children in care, ranging from 13 months to three years of age, for a total of 13 points. Children were observed having free play with legos and other toys. Three children?s records, one caregiver record, one household members record, and one pet record were reviewed and were in compliance. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider does not administer medication and is aware that she must have certification in Medication Administration Training to do so. Breakfast today was biscuits, applesauce, and milk. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, and fire extinguisher were observed and were in compliance. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed and were in compliance.
