An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, January 15, 2020 to determine the providers compliance with family day home standards. The inspection was initiated at 11:00am and concluded at 1:00pm. Upon the inspector's arrival five children were in care for a value of eleven points with one caregiver. Children had been playing with trucks and the house keeping area and were starting to clean up in preparation of lunch. Children watched a video while lunch was being made. Children had bathroom breaks and washed their hands before sitting down to lunch. Today's lunch consisted of chicken noodle soup, mixed vegetables, pears and milk. Later children napped with soft music in the back ground. The caregiver interacted in a positive manner with children in care. The provider had the following posted: emergency phone numbers, last inspection notice, attendance sheets, menu and the license. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were checked and found complete. All areas used for child care were inspected. The family day home is equipped with age appropriate materials. Additional toys and supplies have been and were available to children in care. The inspector interacted with children in care and the caregiver.
An evacuation drill was documented on 01/06/2020 and the the two required shelter-in-place drills for 2019 were completed on 01/03/2019 and 09/03/2019.
Six children's records, one caregiver and one household record were reviewed.
Medication is not being administered. No transportation provided. The caregiver has current CPR & First aid certification. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector at 804-662-9758.
