Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-10:30am. There were 5 children (11 points) directly supervised by 1 staff. The home, 1 staff record, 3 children?s records, 1 household member?s record, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed finishing up breakfast and washing hands. Children were independently reading books and playing imaginative play while the provider helped another child. The provider was observed sitting on the ground encouraging the children's play and "eating" meals provided by the children and asking questions. The provider discussed the schedule with the children as they were finishing up block play. Next on the schedule is to art time coloring and drawing as the day before the children painted. The provider gave the children choices on their art projects and was accommodating to their requests. Diapering procedures were also observed. There was a supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact Leah Pagala at 703-537-6757 or leah.pagala@dss.virginia.gov
