Technical Assistance:
Three hours of Virginia Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care must be completed by all caregivers hired prior to March 1, 2019 no later than March 1, 2020. Flyer provided.
Please notify your inspector of termination/suspension of services for more than 24 hours as a result of an emergency.
Please complete http://www.dss.virginia.gov/facility/injury_report_subsidy.cgi to report any serious injury to the Division. Serious injuries are defined as an injury sustained while in day care that resulted in the child getting outside medical treatment.

Comments:
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted with the provider. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see separate report for details). Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in the licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. There were five children present, ranging in age from 1 year to 3 years. The caregivers have documentation of the mandatory VA Pre-service Training and current certification in first aid and CPR. There are no children with diagnosed food allergies currently enrolled ? please review the applicable standards regarding food allergies.
Reminder: evacuation drills are required monthly, shelter in place drills are required twice a year, and a lockdown drill is required once a year. Lockdown drills are to isolate children from a security threat; shelter in place drills are to protect children from a natural or manmade threat. The last lockdown drill was conducted 12/12/2019.
