63.2 Licensure and Registration Procedures
Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Center Supervisor-Mr. Armaye. This visit took place in the morning, there were 32 children present with 3 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed arriving to morning SACC, coloring, playing games, preparing and departing the center for a flag football tournament at Sleepy Hollow school, morning snack, and having spa day. Morning snack consisted banana bread and milk. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children records, medication, lunch containers, fire drill log, staff training records and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N Description: Based on observation of the medication, one long-term medication was found on-site beyond the expiration date and the 14 days required for the parent to pick up or discard. Evidence: An expired epi-pen was found at the center for a child who is no longer enrolled in the program (8/14). Plan of Correction: Center Supervisor stated that he notified the parent however they have not picked-up the medication. Center Supervisor will discard the medication immediately.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G Description: Based on observation of the lunch containers brought from home, two were found without the name and or date identifying the owner. Evidence: Two lunch containers did not include the child's name and or date. Plan of Correction: Sacc Center supervisor labeled and dated the lunch bags immediately during this inspection.
