Consultation was provided on standard 440.I. regarding placement of cribs away from objects outside of the crib. Two unoccupied cribs were placed near two night lights that a standing infant could reach. The cribs should be moved out of reach of the lights when the cribs are in use by infants who are pulling up and standing.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on November 17, 2014. The director arrived during the inspection. All of the children in care at the time of the inspection were in building # 2. There were 2 infants and 4 toddlers with 2 staff. One infant was in a swing, and the second infant and the toddlers were at the table for their lunch. Lunch included chicken, corn, spinach, bread, and milk. The preschool class included 5 children with 1 staff. They had worked on an art project, listened to music and played maracas, and then washed hands for lunch. No medications were being given at the center. A recommendation will be made to renew the license for two years. Inspection began at 11:00 and ended at 12:50.
