Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection December 15, 2014 from approximately 10:30am to 12:30pm. The following ratios were observed with a total of 28 children present during the inspection: Toddlers & Twos - 4 children with 1 staff Twos & Threes - 6 children with 1 staff Threes & Fours ? 9 children with 1 staff Fours & Fives - 9 children with 1 staff An additional staff member was available to provide assistance when needed along with a member of management. The children were preparing to go outside when the licensing inspector arrived. Children were observed playing outside participating in the following activities; playing basketball, pulling one another in wagons, playing in sandboxes, riding tricycles, and playing make believe in a playhouse creating ?cakes?. Later children were observed washing their hands for lunch, having holiday books read to them, singing songs, and participating in Music and Movement. Lunches are brought from home. Staff was observed interacting with the children and providing assistance when needed. Later children began to transition into naptime. All areas of the center including classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen, and playgrounds were inspected. The center was equipped with toys and supplies and items were available to the children. The following information was reviewed: emergency supplies, injury reports, fire and shelter-in-place drills, daily sheets, daily attendance, parent agreements, and staff training information. The director stated medication is not administered at this time. Transportation is not provided. Last documented health inspection: 11/20/2014 Last documented fire inspection: 10/06/14 During the inspection, four children records and four employees? records were reviewed.
