Technical Assistance:
1. Medication procedures discussed. The written authorization is to match the actual medication-if the written authorization states a brand name medicine, then the brand name product is to be on-site, not a generic. 2. First aid kits should be kept tidy and clean. 3. Discussed outdoor play area plans, as the Director reported that the playground would no longer be used by the preschool program. Instead the sport court area adjacent to the building will be the designated outdoor play space.

Comments:
Conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection. Observed 8 children + 1 direct-care staff. Staffing remains consistent. Ratios were in compliance and supervision was constant. The teacher was actively engaged with the children, helping them as needed, and speaking to them in a positive manner. Children were observed washing hands, eating snack, and playing with puzzles. Snack included: goldfish crackers, banana, water and juice. The classroom was found to be clean, safeguarded appropriately, and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Required documents were posted. Record keeping has shown continued improvement. Inspection conducted 2:10-3:05pm.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-E
Description: Based on observations made, it was determined that medication was not properly labeled. Evidence: 2 of 3 medications belonging to Child #1 were not labeled with the child's name.

Plan of Correction: The medication has been labled + the current method has been noted + implemented.
