An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 3:45 P.M. until 5:15 P.M. At the time of the entrance, 12 children were in care with five staff members present. The sample size consisted of three children's records. Staff records were reviewed at the beginning of the school year. No children had medication at the center at the time of the inspection. Children and staff were observed engaged in free outdoor play, homework time, and during snack. Staff were observed during arrival, departure, transition, and behavioral management. Violations from the previous inspection were reviewed for current compliance. No repeat violations were found. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on observation and interview, the staff failed to ensure an emergency evacuation drill was conducted for the month of February. Evidence: 1. The documentation for the evacuation drills did not contain documentation of an emergency drill being completed for the month of February. The director stated they were unable to complete the emergency drill on the day planned. The center closed due to the weather. Plan of Correction: Emergency drills will be scheduled for earlier in the month in the future in case of closings or weather conditions.
