An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from approximately 1:30pm until 4:30pm. Present today were: Five Infants with two staff Toddlers - four children with one staff Two Year Old Classroom - six children with two staff (one child below the age of two years) Three Year Old Classroom- eight children with one staff Four Year Old Classroom - Fourteen children with two staff School age Classroom : Fifteen children arrived from school with one staff Infant and Toddler Classrooms were observed. Staff were sitting on the floor interacting with the children. Staff were feeding infants, diapering and holding children. Various manipultives were being used. Preschool classrooms had began making hot air balloons. The theme this week is "Aviation". Other activities today included listening to stories, learning the letter for the week, creating paint brush art designs, building with manipulatives, completing puzzles and celebrating a birthday. Staff were observed frequently speaking with the children. Snack: Cheese puffs and juice Last shelter-in-place practice drill: 3/16/15 Last practice evacuation drill: 2/25/15 All required emergency supplies were present. The playground will be inspected for resilient material depth at the next inspection due to the rain. Four children's records, three staff records and four children's medications were inspected.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on inspection of the facility, the center did not ensure all areas of the center were maintained in a safe and operable condition. Evidence: The electrical outlet located in the two year old classroom has wall board surrounding the outlet that is broken. Plan of Correction: Per Center: The outlet cover will be removed and sheet rock will be fixed.
