Discussed with the Director: Telephonic references for staff are acceptable as long as you have date of contact, contact name, reference information and you sign as the person getting the information. Also discussed shelter in place drills - 2 per year.
Unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 10:50 an ending at 1:30. There were 63 children present, ages 2 weeks through 5 years. Children were observed at lunch, nap, playing on the playground, painting, listening to a story about butterflies and playing on the floor. Ratios were appropriate in all classrooms. Playground was inspected - mulch had been replenished. 10 Children's medications were reviewed - see violation notice 10 children's files were reviewed - complete 4 new staff files were reviewed - complete Emergency escape drills were up to date as were Health and Fire Inspection Licensing inspector Linda Reynolds 540-272-2663 and email firstname.lastname@example.org
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A Description: Based on a review of medication for 10 children, it was determined that not all children had the correct medication authorization. Evidence: The medication permission forms for Child A and Child B is a County school form and does not give permission for the childcare staff to give the medication. Plan of Correction: The parents were notified and the correct forms will be signed by the parent today and by the physician by the end of the week.
