- Technical Assistance:
1. The medicine identified on written medication authorization forms must match the actual medicine provided exactly. If a brand name is identified, then the medicine on-site is to be the same, not a generic brand. Any variance could result in a future violation. 2. Snacks should be in accordance with USDA nutritional guidelines, and the menu should identify the type of juice served. The word "juice" does not meet the requirements.
Conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection. Observed 13 children + 2 direct-care staff. Staffing has remained consistent for approximately 2 years. Ratios were well in compliance and supervision was constant. Staff were actively engaged with the children and activities. Children were having a "show and share" activity, washing hands, eating lunch, making art projects, reading books, and having 1:1 assessments on letter and number identification. The classroom was found to be clean, safeguarded appropriately, and well supplied with educational supplies and equipment for the children. The outdoor play area has been relocated temporaily to the basket ball courts, as the tennis courts are under renovation. Snack served: cookies, carrots, ranch dip, and water. Medication management was in compliance. One record keeping violation found. Inspection completed 9:50-10:40am.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on three (3) staff records reviewed, it was determined that one (1) record did not include a current TB screening. Evidence: Staff #6 - The TB test on-file had expired in December 2014. Plan of Correction: Staff has been notified & requested to submit an updated test w/ in 14 days
