63.2 Facilities and Programs..
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced inspection on 5/5/2015 from approximately 10:20 until noon. The licesning administrator was also present. There were twelve children in care with three staff supervising at all times. The children were observed making a craft, playing at centers, and lining up for the bathroom, washing hands, and at lunch. Violations are noted on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on recrod review, the center did not receive all the required information. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed three children's records. One of three records (child record #1) did not contain addresses for emergency contacts. Plan of Correction: The teacher will contact the parent and obtain the required information and it will be documented.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-320-B Description: Based on observation and measurement, the center failed to have warm running water at a temperature that did not exceed 120 degrees. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the bathrooms and used the thermometer to measure the temperature. The water temperature was 137 degrees. Plan of Correction: The education manager will contact the principal of the school and ask if the temperature can be adjusted to 120 degrees or below.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on observation, the center did not have the required emergency supplies. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the radio, but there were no batteries for it. Plan of Correction: The teacher will replace batteries in the radio.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not complete a monthly emergency drill. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed the monthly documentation of emergency drills. In November, a drill was not completed. Plan of Correction: The teacher will monitor the dates of the emergency drills to ensure drills are practiced and documented as required. If a drill is missed during the month, the teacher will conduct two the next month.
Standard #: 63.2-1701-F Description: Based on observation, the center did not have the most recent inspection posted. Plan of Correction: The director stated on 5/11/2015 that the violation had been sent to the center and posted. Director will send and make sure notice is posted in the future.
