Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on 5/5/2015 from 10:20 until noon. The licensing administrator was also present. There were fourteen children in care with three staff supervising at all times. The children were observed making a craft, playing at centers, and lining up for the bathroom. washing hands, and at lunch. Violations are noted on the violation notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-320-B
Description: Based on observation and measurement, the center failed to have warm water at temperature that did not exceed 120 degrees. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the bathrooms and used the thermometer to to measure the temperature. The temperature was 137 degrees.

Plan of Correction: The education manager will contact the principal of the school and ask if the water heater can be adjusted to ensure temperature does not exceed 120 degrees. Teachers will monitor the children during hand washing to enusre the water doesn't get too hot.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D
Description: Based on record review, the center did not complete all the required monthly emergency drills. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed the monthly documents of drills. In November, a drill was not completed.

Plan of Correction: The teacher will monitor the dates of the drills to ensure they are practiced and documented as required. If a drill is missed during the month, the teacher will conduct two the following month.

Standard #: 63.2-1701-F
Description: Based on observation, the center did not have the most recent inspection posted.

Plan of Correction: The director staed on 5/11/2015 that the violation had been sent to the center and posted. Director will send and make sure notice is posted in the future.
