Technical Assistance:
Discussed the following with the director: - possibility (and potential impact) of sharing space in the building with another program. - types of emergency medications which may be needed for children in care.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated today at11am. There were 10 children under the supervision of 2 staff. During the inspection, children were observed eating snack, listening to a teacher read a story, watching one of the teachers release butterflies that they had raised in the classroom, playing outside on the playground and interacting with the staff in a positive and constructive manner. For snack, the children were served graham crackers and bananas. Should you have any questions, please contact me.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, there was equipment on the playground area not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence 1. The top part of the slide (painted yellow) has peeling paint.

Plan of Correction: The director will have this repainted.
