Technical Assistance:
1. Reviewed with staff the requirement to store cleaning supplies promptly after each use. 2. Suggested the fence gate on the smaller playground be shut prior to children playing there to reduce the risk of children exiting the area and going into the street.

Comments:
Conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection. Observed 89 children + 11 direct-care staff in the summer camp program. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were making a variety of art projects and having outdoor free-play during the inspection. Areas were found to be clean, safeguarded appropriately, and sufficiently supplied with equipment for the children. Required documents were posted. Record keeping was in order. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C
Description: Based on observations made, it was determined that a non-prescription medication had expired. Evidence: Child #1 - The medication expired in February 2014.

Plan of Correction: The medication was returned to the parent upon their arrival and new medication was requested. A log will be created and implemented to ensure all medications and corresponding authorizations are current and valid.
