An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on August 4, 2015. A designated teacher in charge, the assistant director and the director assisted with the inspection. It was noted that the center had made some renovations to the center and the infant area had been moved. The area will accomodate 13 infants. At the time of the inspection there were 7 infants in care with 2 staff. One infant was asleep in a crib, 1 was in an activity seat, 1 was being held, 2 were in high chairs being fed, and 2 were having floor time. There were 9 children in the Toddler Room with 2 staff. (The new space will allow for 14 children.) The children were singing songs. The Two Year Old Room included 15 children with 2 staff, and they were outside playing. The Preschool and Pre-K were together for outdoor play and included 20 children with 2 staff. After outdoor time they separated into 2 groups. There were 28 school age children with 2 staff, and they left for a field trip to a local park. Later lunch was served and the menu was beef and gravy, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, rolls, apples, and milk. Inspection began: 9:05 Inspection ended: 12:15 (The inspector will return when the renovations are complete and note the changes to the floor plan. It is understood that changes will be made to some wall areas and to the school age room. Consideration might be given to adding a sink to the school age room for opportunities for more immediate hand washing and ease with art projects.)
