Technical Assistance:
Discussed authorizations for daily prescription medication. Discussed Injury Prevention plan with staff. Be sure Accident/Incident reports document when parents are notified - review standards for guidance.

Comments:
An unannounced afternoon inspection was conducted during the afternoon from 3:00- 430. The entire center and groups were reviewed. All classes were checked and ratios were met and staff interviewed were able to answer the Inspectors questions. The Inspector reviewed three staff records, children's records, medication policies, MAT certifications, special care (drills), and injury prevention plan was checked. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, the outside are has unsafe conditions. Evidence: 1. The preschool playground has a water fountain available for the children but the hose from water play was still under the fountain which poses a tripping hazard. 2. On that same playground, the gate to the AC Units was not secured and the gate was open.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during the visit. I will remind the staff to check area for hazards.

Description: Based on observation, the center failed to provide drinks with the snack.

Plan of Correction: I reminded staff about food provisions.
