- Technical Assistance:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was made on September 15, 2015 at 10:00 a. m. and concluded at 11:45 a. m. The inspector met with staff and some but not all Child Day Center standards were reviewed. The following staff-to-child ratios were observed: Three Years: There were eight children with one staff and one volunteer. The children were having free play in the blocks and also engaged in an "Apple Art" project. Four Years: There were six children with one staff. The children were engaged in an art project, they were painting "Sea Animals" at the table. Four Years: There were ten children with two staff. The children were engaged in several interest centers which included Home Living, Blocks, Doll House, and Water Table with plastic sea animals. Three children records were reviewed. One staff record reviewed. The center is currently not administering any medications. Conversations were held with all staff and three children. Three classroom observations were conducted.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on review of staff records the center did not get one TB test updated within two years of the last TB test. Evidence: On 9/15/15, staff #1 had a TB test dated 8/28/13, over two years old. Plan of Correction: Staff #1 will get TB test update as soon as possible.
