An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on September 18, 2015. There were 12 children present with two staff members. The posted menu indicated that for lunch, the children would be served cheeseburgers with lettuce and tomato, mixed vegetables, diced mango and milk. Observations included indoor areas, supervision, staff/child ratios, health and safety, and the children's records. The children were observed playing in centers and during outdoor play. Three children's records were reviewed. Three emergency medications were reviewed. Areas of noncompliance are identified on the violation notice.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J Description: Based on observation and inspection of the facility, the staff members did not ensure that medication shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Plan of Correction: This was corrected during the inspection. The staff member immediately removed the medications from on top of the storage cabinet and locked them.
