Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Center Supervisor- Mr. Weekes. This visit took place in the morning between 7:15-9:00am there were 22 children with 4 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed arriving to morning SACC, having breakfast, making friendship bracelets, playing boards games, reading books and in transition for morning dismissal to class and breakfast. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, cleaning agents were found unlocked and accessible to children. Evidence: A cleaning solution was found attached to a mop near the refrigerator accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Staff removed the solution immediately during this inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-B Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, the first aid kit was found in a storage closet unlocked and accessible to children. Evidence: The first aid kit was found in a storage closet accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Staff immediately locked the storage closet.
