Today an unannounced renewal inspection was conducted between 1:45pm and 3:15pm. There were 64 children in the care of 5 staff members. Children were observed participating in a special event (Mall Day) in which smoothies, pizza, fries were made and nails were painted for a fee. Children were also engaged in child led activities such as cards, coloring, and creating their own board game. Medications, a sampling of children's records, supervision, battery operated flash light, medication training, and the facility were observed and inspected. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based on record review, 1 of 5 children's records was incomplete. Evidence: Child #5 record did not have completed emergency contact information. The complete address was missing for one emergency contact.

Plan of Correction: Will email the parent in order to get the address, and will remind parent when the child is picked up.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-N
Description: Based on observation, children were eating and drinking while walking around. Evidence: 2 children were eating french fries while walking through the center during the facility's "Mall" Special event. Another child was observed drinking a smoothie while walking through the center.

Plan of Correction: We will remind children to have a seat while eating, even during a special event.
