Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated today at noon. The physical plant, 3 staff files, 4 children's files, annual fire inspection, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected today. There were 43 children under the supervision of 7 teachers. During the inspection, children were observed playing on the playground, cleaning up for and eating their lunch. Each child brings a lunch from home daily. The interactions between the children and staff were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B
Description: Based on observations, not all of the playground equipment had adequate resilient surfacing underneath and in the fall zones. Evidence 1. The plastic playground climbing equipment does not have a minimum of 6 inches of mulch underneath and within the fall zones.

Plan of Correction: Mulch had recently been added to the playground under the metal climbing equipment. The director will contact the company to have more added to the area mentioned above.
