Consultation was given on children who stay for rest time and are not identified as "nappers". If the child stays more then 5 hours then they should rest for a minimum of 1 hour but no more than 2 hours. If they are not asleep within 30 minutes then they can do quiet activities. Rest mats or cushions should be used that are a minimum of one inch thick and can be sanitized weekly. Children should have a top and bottom sheet. Please review nap standards and equipment needed for rest time (380.2 and 450.A)
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted today. All six classrooms were in ratio with direct care staff. Children were finishing lunch and transitioning to rest time. All rooms and the outside play area were reviewed as well as three new staff records, medication authorizations and storage, training and emergency preparation. Six children have emergency medication on site with five staff having current MAT certification. Rooms are well supplied with Montessori materials and equipment that suppor the curriculum. Please sign and date the report and return it to me within 10 calendar days from date of receipt. If you have any questions regarding the inspection, please feel free to contact me.
