Technical Assistance:
Discussed with the Owner and the Director: Working with a special needs child, and having access to his teachers and IEP as well as information from family regarding what their expectations are.

Comments:
Unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 1:00 and ending at 3:30. Children were observed napping in all classrooms. All classrooms were in appropriate ratio. Reviewed 1 medication - see violation notice Reviewed three children's files - complete Reviewed 3 staff files - complete Emergency escape drills are up to date as are Health and Fire Inspections. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-A
Description: Based on observation, it was determined that not all children had top and bottom covers at nap time. Evidence: There were 4 children observed in the 4's and 3's classrooms who either had no linens or who had only a top cover.

Plan of Correction: The Director stated that they would purchase extra linens to be kept at the center.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A
Description: Based on observation and interview with staff, it was determined that there is an emergency medication that is present at the center without a current authorization. Evidence: The medication for Child A does not have parental authorization or parent and physician's authorization.

Plan of Correction: The Director will get wither parent and doctors permission to administer medication or will get parent authorization every 10 days.
