Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:45am-12:00pm. There were 84 children (infants-6yrs.) directly supervised by 19 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 4 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in circle time, playing and working independently, participating in "Power Tots", and playing outside. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C
Description: Based on medication review, the center did not follow their medication procedures. Evidence: An emergency medication for Child 6 was observed with an expiration date of September 2015 and was maintained on site.

Plan of Correction: I will follow up with parents and a date will be set.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G
Description: Based on medication review, prescription medications were not maintained in the original, labeled container. Evidence: An emergency medication observed for Child 5 did not have the medication label attached.

Plan of Correction: I will request parents to bring in.
