A discussion was held with Ms. Fernatt regarding the written parents' agreement (Standard 90.A.3.) to include statement: "except for life threatening diseases which must be reported immediately".
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted in the Center on October 22, 2015. There were 27 preschool-age children present. The children were observed in two classrooms with two assigned staff in each class. Two additional staff were also present in the Center. The LI observed the children as they participated in varied activities. Staff were observed interacting with the children and read stories to them. The LI observed one group of children during outdoor play. Both groups were observed in the dining room during the lunch meal, hand washing procedures were followed. Dismissal procedures were observed at the end of the program day. The children had participated in a field trip to a pumpkin patch earlier in the week. A sample of 5 children's records were reviewed. Documentation of the annual fire and health inspections were current. Medications for 4 children were reviewed. Findings of the inspection were reviewed with the Center Lead Teacher. Play equipment (a wood refrigerator) was rearranged in a classroom and a maintenance ticket will be submitted to have it anchored to the wall.
