Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with Center Supervisor-Mr. Armaye. This visit took place in the morning between 7:30-9am there were 47 students with 4 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed arriving to morning SACC, having breakfast, dancing/exercising, reading, arts & craft-making baskets and brazillian mask. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, a cleaning agent was found in a closet unlocked and accessible to children. Evidence: In the storage closet near the staff desk, cleaning agents were found in a unlocked storage closet accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Center supervisor locked the storage closet during this inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-B Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, first aid supplies were found in a unlocked cabinet accessible to children. Evidence: The activated charcoal was found in a cabinet above the sink unlocked and accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Center supervisor locked the cabinet immediately during this inspection.
