Thank you for your time and assistance with the unannounced renewal inspection conducted today, November 3, 2015. The on-site visit was from 10:00 a.m. to 2:05 p.m. On this date, at the time of arrival, there were 44 children ranging in age from 16 months to five years present in five classrooms with eight (8) staff. Public schools were closed so there were 30 school-age children present and in the care of two (2) staff. There were a total of 74 children present for the day, a total of 85 children enrolled in the program. There were a total of ten (10) staff present with the children, and four (4) extra staff members were available to assist if needed. There were no violations of the licensing standards observed during the visit. Five (5) staff members' records and six (6) children's records were reviewed during the visit. The medication and medication paperwork were reviewed for three (3) children. There were seven (7) staff members and five (5) children interviewed. Lunch met USDA guidelines and consisted of chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, green beans, pears, and milk. Items observed/reviewed included: first aid and emergency supplies, injury reports, evacuation and shelter-in-place drills, updated emergency preparedness procedures and injury prevention procedures, and required posted information. The center was decorated with the children's artwork. Center time, story time, language art activities, choice time, snack, handwashing and bathroom procedures, diapering procedures, outdoor play, lunch, nap time, and dismissal procedures were observed during the visit.
