Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Director-Mrs. Mardee Wimmer this visit took place in the morning between 9:45-12 there were a total of 43 students with 5 staff in building #1 . The children were observed having morning free play, making biscuits, having snack, counting, and in transition for lunch and dismissal. Lunch consisted of chicken quesadilla, whole wheat tortilla, fruit, salad and milk. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on observation of the records, one staff record did not include documentation of orientation training. Evidence: Staff #1's record did not include documentation of orientation training. Plan of Correction: Director stated that she will have them complete it by the end of the week.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, the following area was found not being maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: In building #1, deteriorating/chipped wood were found on a shelf in the bathroom near the toilet paper dispenser. Plan of Correction: Director stated that they will put a request out to parents to see if someone can fix the shelf.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-H Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, medication and a purse was found unlocked and accessible to children. Evidence: In building #2, medication and a purse was found in a unlocked storage closet accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Director immediately locked the storage closet during this inspection.
