Comments:
Thank you for your time and assistance with the unannounced renewal inspection conducted today, January 19, 2016. The on-site visit was from 10:25 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. On this date, there were eight (8) children present in the two-year-old morning class and twelve (12) children present in the morning four-year-old class. There were seven (7) children present in the three-year-old afternoon class. A total of two (2) staff members were present during each class. The total enrollment for all three classes was thirty-nine (39) children. The violation from the previous inspection was reviewed for compliance. There were no violations of the licensing standards observed during the visit. There were four (4) staff members' records reviewed for updates and five (5) children's records reviewed. Four (4) staff members and three (3) children were interviewed. The medication and medication paperwork were reviewed for one (1) child. All snacks were observed to meet USDA guidelines. Due to inclement weather, outdoor play could not be observed. The playground was observed but the resilient surfacing was frozen and could not be measured. Themes in the three classrooms consisted of Winter Elements, Forms of Water, Forms of Matter, and Staying Healthy. Choice time, circle time, story time, music and rhythm activities, arrival and dismissal procedures, art activities, water table play, small motor activities, indoor large motor play, snack, hand washing, and bathroom procedures were observed during the visit.
