Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on February 3, 2016. The children were observed drawing, playing with blocks, card games and other table top activities. The licensing inspector reviewed the following: physical plant, emergency supplies and procedures, nutrition, fire and health inspections, required postings and supervision. Three children's records were reviewed during this inspection. There are no medications present in the center at this time. The menu indicated that today's afternoon snack would consist of applesauce and pretzels.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-5
Description: Based on observation and inspection of the facility, the licensee did not ensure that there was one staff member for every 18 children from the age of eligibility to attend public school through eight years old. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on February 3, 2016, the licensing inspector observed the following ratios and times: 7:53am There were two staff members with 37 school age children. 8:06am There were two staff members with 39 school age children. 8:12am There were two staff members with 40 school age children. 8:13am There were two staff members with 41 school age children. An additional staff person arrived at 8:14am.

Plan of Correction: The site director contacted the Area Manager in regards to the ratio. An additional staff member arrived to be in compliance.

Description: Based on observation and inspection of the facility, the licensee did not have all required items in the first aid kit. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on February 3, 2016, the first aid kit did not have an antiseptic cleaning solution/pads.

Plan of Correction: This was corrected during the inspection. A staff member arrived with antiseptic pads.
