Comments:
An unannounced mandated licensing study was conducted from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 and then at the main office from 1:30-2:45 where two staff records and board officer background checks were reviewed. There were 14 children in care with two staff supervising and maintaining ratios at all times. Children were observed playing at centers, at circle time, having a bathroom break and washing hands. Medications were reviewed. Three children's records were reviewed. The playground was not inspected due to heavy rains (schools were dismissed early due to flood concerns). The previous violation had been corrected. The violation from today is on the violation notice. If you have any questions please call your inspector at 276-698-9981.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N
Description: Based on observation and record review, the center had a medication at the center and the authorization had expired and it had been longer than 14 days. Evidence: 1. Child #1 had a prescription authorization good through 1/14/2016. The inspection was held on 2/3/16 and the medication was still at the center.

Plan of Correction: The lead teacher will review with health supervisor medication standards. The medication was sent to the main office to be delivered to the parent. The health supervisor sent an e-mail to the teachers reviewing with them medication procedures.
