Comments:
An unannounced inspection was conducted at 1100 today. The Inspector arrived to find 14 children being supervised by 2 staff and another staff covering the office. The Director was out today but staff were cooperative and able to answer questions. The Inspector was unable to review files because the staff member needed to go to the class so another could go to prepare lunch. The staff stated no one is currently enrolled that may need medication. The children were observed in circle time and free play. Please call with questions 703-479-4679

Violations:

Plan of Correction: We will remove

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-F
Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure children under 10 years of age always shall be within actual sight and sound supervision of staff. Evidence: 1. Inspector walked into room 1 and found a four years old child standing behind the door. Child #1was putting her coat away and no staff were present in the room. The Inspector then walked across the room and into room 2 to find children and two staff present. One staff sat with the children while another was helping a child take off their coat. 2. Child #1 entered into the room and staff told the child to go and put gloves away. This child then walked out into room 1 without supervision. The Inspector told staff #2 and she walked into the room and had her return to the group.

Plan of Correction: All staff will be reminded that children must stay in sight and supervision.
