Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure that all cleaning supplies were kept in a locked area. Evidence: 1. During the inspection the LI observed in the classroom of staff # 2 & 3, the cleaning supplies were in unlocked closed closets. Each closet had cans of disinfectant spray and glass cleaner. These items had extra warning labels in addition to the "keep out of reach" of children. They were five feet and higher to reach. The closet in classroom of staff # 3 also had a container of Xcelene -all purpose cleaner. This cleaner was on a shelf approximately two feet high from the floor.

Plan of Correction: The director has trained the staff on this standard. Will remind staff verbally to double check the closets every time they enter a room to ensure it is locked. All staff will have this responsibility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-370-5
Description: Based on observation the center staff did not provide an awake infant not playing on the floor a different play space every thirty minutes. Evidence: 1. During the inspection the LI observed in the infant classroom child # 1 was in a bouncy chair at 9:16 AM . When the LI returned to the room at 10:20 AM the infant was still in the bouncey chair. The LI asked staff # 1 if the child had been moved since the LI's arrival and she indicated no , that she was caring for the other infants.

Plan of Correction: The staff have been trained in this standard and will be verbally reminded.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-A
Description: Based on observation the center staff did not ensure the safety of the children who were sitting in high chairs while eating their lunch. Evidence: 1. During the inspection the LI observed children # 3 & 4 sitting in high chairs being fed their lunch. It was observed that the safety belts were not buckled on these children. This was also verified through discussion with staff # 4.

Plan of Correction: The staff have been trained in this standard already. Will put up notes as reminders as well as verbally reminding them.
