Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, November 30, 2015 as a 60-day follow-up to an IPOC. The Inspector and Licensing Administrator arrived at 12:30 pm and concluded the inspection at 1:40 pm. Upon the Inspectors arrival, children were observed napping. All indoor areas of the facility including the indoor jungle gym were inspected for corrections. Three staff records were reviewed as a follow up. The following ratios were observed: Observations were taken during the nap time period. Two year classroom: 9 children with 1 staff Toddler: 3 children with 1 staff Three year classroom: 11 children with 1 staff Four year classroom: 9 children with 1 staff If you have questions regarding today's inspection, please contact the licensing inspector at 804-662-9758.

Description: Based on observations, the facility did not ensure all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: A canister of disinfectant spray was observed on the counter of the school age classroom. The classroom was not occupied at the time of the observation, however preschool age children and school age children use the room throughout the day.

Plan of Correction: The Director removed the disinfectant spray and placed it in a locked kitchen. Per the Director; I will review with staff the policy of ensuring all cleaning supplies are locked up after use.
