Technical Assistance:
Injury Prevention Plan and Safety Plan needs to be updated each year. Emergency contacts need address as well.

Comments:
An unannounced inspection was conducted from 8 am until 945. The Inspector arrived to find 7 children with 4 staff. During the inspection, more children arrived and more staff arrived. The Inspector observed classes and sat with children to talk about their activities. Staff and children's records were reviewed and special care provisions were also observed. There are no children on medication at this time. Please call with questions 703-479-4679

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, cleaning spray was located in a cabinet that was not locked.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during the visit.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A
Description: Based on observation, staff did not remind children to wash hands after eating. Evidence: 1. Inspector observed a child had finished their breakfast of cereal with bananas and placed bowl and spoon in the trash. Chidl was then permitted to pick out a box of toys to play.

Plan of Correction: We will remind staff to have children wash hands before and after meals

Standard #: 63.2-1720-F
Description: Based on record review for a staff member that began employment on February 16, 2016, the center does not have completed background checks maintained on file. Evidence: 1. Staff has paperwork showing background checks were sent but AD stated the paperwork has not been returned. 2. Background checks are required to be maintained within 30 days and employment has been over 30 days.

Plan of Correction: We will call today to determine status.
