63.2 Licensure and Registration Procedures

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today 4/28/2016. There were 35 children in care with four staff members. The inspector arrived at 9:30 a.m. and departed the program at 1:00 p.m. The inspector reviewed four children's records during the inspection. The inspector observed the children during: circle time, free play in centers, assessments, art time, lunch and nap. Discussion with the staff about : areas and equipment maintained in a operable, safe condition , and medications.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation of areas and equipment of the center, the center failed to ensure that is was maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed around the outdoor steps leading into the classroom that the under pinning was cracked in numerous areas with sharp points that pose a hazard to the children in care.

Plan of Correction: The staff will inform the main office and the main office will replace the cracked underpinning as soon as possible.
