Today an unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 9am. There were two licensed programs in session during this inspection. The enrichment program had 15 children and 2 teachers and the 2 1/2 year old program had 10 children and 2 teachers. Children were playing outside on the playground, washing hands and eating snack. Seven medications with authorizations were reviewed in addition to 2 children's records. Evidence: A medication for child #1 had an expiration date of 12/15 and is still on-site. Plan of Correction: We will notify the parents today and request a new one.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G Description: Based on direct observation, food brought from home was not labeled. Evidence: In the enrichment program, two lunch bags with snacks did not have complete labels. One bag was labeled with a child's name but had no date on the snacks that were not prepackaged. One lunch bag did not have a child's name or date on the foods. Plan of Correction: We will email parents to remind them to label and date all foods brought in, including the lunch bags. Staff will also double check the labels at drop-off in the mornings.
