22VAC40-185 SPECIAL SERVICES.
An unannounced complaint inspection was initiated in the center on June 1, 2016 and completed it on June 13, 2016 in response to a call that was received regarding the area of supervision. Related documentation was reviewed and interviews were conducted with center staff and with other parties involved. Observations were also made related to supervision. Based on information obtained during the inspection the preponderance of evidence does not support the allegation therefore the self-reported incident is noted as not valid. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure that when the center chooses to provide meals or snacks, the children are allowed second helpings of food listed in the USDA's child and adult care meal patterns. Evidence: During the inspection on June 1, 2016, a child in the two year old classroom was observed requesting a second helping of milk during lunch and was denied the second helping as the center staff said "only one cup of milk.". Plan of Correction: The administrative assistant made sure the staff are retrained.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-N Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure that children are not allowed to drink or eat while walking around. Evidence: During the inspection on June 1, 2016, two children in the two year old classroom were observed walking around and eating during lunch. Plan of Correction: The administrative assistant will make sure the staff are retrained.
