An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 6:40 a.m. and ending at 8:00 a.m. with the director and one staff. There were twelve children in care ranging in age from six years to ten years of age. Children were observed playing at their choice of centers that included toy cars, legos and games. Snack today was cereal and milk. Children were observed helping clean up centers. Four children's records and three staff records were reviewed. Emergency drills were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A Description: Based on review of documentation, the center failed to obtain documentation of an annual fire inspection. Evidence: The most recent fire inspection in the file was dated 3/12/2015. Plan of Correction: The fire inspection has been conducted, we did not receive documentation of the inspection. The local fire marshall's office has been contacted several times, however the documentation has not been provided.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-D Description: Based on review of documentation, the center failed to obtain medication authorization from the parent as required. Evidence: There was no documentation of parent authorization for benadryl for Children for Child A. Plan of Correction: The parent completed an authorization this morning.
