Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The inspector arrived at 11:30 AM and departed at 1:00 PM. Twenty-one children from 14 months - 4 years were in care with nine staff plus numerous administrative personnel. Lunch service and transition to nap time were observed. The outdoor playground was inspected. It was reported that no children have been administered this season and that no emergency medicines are stored for potential administration. Children's injury records were reviewed. A sample size of five children's records and three staff records were reviewed. An exit meeting was conducted with the program director, during which the facility's plan of correction for the violation cited was obtained. Please contact the inspector if there are any questions.

Description: Based upon observation, the facility has not ensured that areas and equipment are maintained to be safe. Evidence: A piece of white veneer covering the front of the sink in the first bathroom has come unattached in the upper right hand corner where it appears a nail/screw has come out. This loose area has sharp edges or could pinch a child.

Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following: The sinks are being replaced during the off-season and will be in safe working order prior to the children attending next year's season.
